In the Appellate Division, First Department, electronic filing (e-filing) through the New York State Courts Electronic Filing (NYSCEF) system commenced in March 2018 with appeals in commercial matters originating in the Supreme Court, Bronx and New York Counties. In July 2019, mandatory e-filing was expanded to all malpractice matters and voluntary, consensual e-filing as permitted in all other tort matters originating in the Supreme Court, Bronx and New York Counties. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has posted proposed changes to its local rules. The public comment period will officially end on October 25, 2019. Some of the proposed changes include: 10th R. 27.6 (Motions to Extend Time)- The deadline to file a motion for extension of time will be changed to 3 days prior to the due date.
