Nikolina Gurfinkel joined AppealTech as a senior appellate paralegal and was soon promoted to the role of paralegal manager, a testament to her hard work and exemplary service–her good-natured disposition being the cherry on top. Throughout her career, Niki has had a penchant for going above and beyond for her clients.
She is often in the thick of the action as she oversees and distributes the daily workload, always making certain that cases are in capable, trusted hands. Her thorough attention to detail ensures that she regularly reviews the work of junior paralegals, guiding them with her repertoire of experience and knowledge. Some of the biggest cases Niki has worked on include: World Trade Center/September 11, 2001 Attacks Litigation, In Re: New York City Asbestos Litigation, In Re 91st Street Crane Collapse Litigation and In Re: Small Smiles Litigation.
Her career began in 1999 as an insurance defense litigation paralegal. She then shifted focus to appeals in 2003 and, after over a decade in the field, Niki has become well-versed with the inner workings of a plethora of courts in the country. Her expertise encompasses all Federal Circuit Courts (including District of Columbia and Federal Circuit), the New Jersey Appellate Division, the Connecticut Appellate Court, the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District, the State of Delaware Supreme Court, the District Court of Appeals of Florida, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and so many other courts that she spent her career familiarizing herself with.
Niki uses her knowledge to serve as a liaison amongst the sales team, the paralegals and production–acting as a junction that keeps communication flowing between departments. When necessary, she also reaches out to courts on behalf of clients or for AppealTech’s reference so that she is always up-to-date. Niki takes great pleasure in helping everyone, be it co-workers or clients, and AppealTech has only reaped the benefits of her selflessness.
